Admissions information

As part of the admissions process, international student applicants must provide the following documents:

  • Successful completion of the equivalent of a U.S. high school program (undergraduate program applicant) or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university (graduate program applicant)
  • Required standardized test scores
  • Acceptable level of proficiency in the English language.
  • Students requiring an F-1 student Visa will have to provide proof of financial ability.

Application process

Your first step toward attending CSU is to complete an application. You have several options to choose from when applying to Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia:

  • You may submit an online application
  • E-mail our international admissions counselor for a printed application.
  • Call us at 706-507-8800 or at 1-866-264-2035 (toll free in the U.S.).
  • Mail a written request, including your full name and mailing address to:

    Office of Admissions
    Columbus State University
    4225 University Avenue
    Columbus, GA 31907-5645

The $30 application fee can be paid by credit card or money order. A credit card payment option is available to online applicants.

When you request an application by mail, we will send you a list of other documentation you are required to submit. Once your application is processed, you can also check your admissions status using CougarNet. Once we receive your application (either online or by mail), we will begin corresponding with you to guide you through the admissions process. And, if you have questions at any point during the process, please contact us.

Start the application process far enough in advance to meet deadlines and allow enough time for professional transcript evaluations, test score submission, etc. To speed up the application process, we recommend you request your high school and college (if any) transcripts be sent for professional evaluation as soon as possible, and register to take required standardized tests. Although applying online could significantly speed up the application process, there are still several forms that have to be printed out and sent to the Admissions Office by mail.
